The canine hero and companion

The dogs of the war

So many soldiers left their pet at home, and would never be seen again.

The lonely dogs waiting at home, for master to come home!

Many others worked with the dogs that had jobs during the war. So many of them lost their lives, both the brave men and the dogs.

There have been many four legged warriors and heroes.

Let us remember them always

In my search for more information on the dogs (canines) of war, I found that there is a new series on A & E called “Dogs of War”.  This talk about the struggle vets have after the war. The post traumatic stress disorder, and that many of them have found comfort in a four footed buddy. A therapy dog.

Jim Stanek and his wife Lindsey started something called Paws and Stripes. The mission is to provide service dogs for veterans with PTSD and traumatic brain injury. Their work is a focus in this series. You can learn more about this group that provides service dogs for military veterans by visiting their site at paws ad stripes. http://www.pawsandstripes.org/

It airs on A&E on Veterans Day at 10PM

I found this out from news on CBN News US. To read more about it please visit their site at

I have to stop my research now to wipe away my tears

I hope you will stop, and remember today, not only the many lost lives of soldiers of all countries but also the dogs that served with them, and the dogs they left behind at home, who never saw them again.
