Coffee break with my dog- dog to work day

Well, I did not have to commute to work today, luckily as if I had, I would not have been able to take my dog Smyth.

We are still waiting to find out what the next step will be in our pursuit of the expansion of the dogs on transit rule. (right now dogs in small ( sit on your lap) carry containers, and service dogs, are allowed. I have asked for the policy to include well behaved dogs on leash with their responsible dog owners ( with rules such as time of day, number of dogs, wearing a jacket to indicate they are approved to ride etc- you can see this site for more info)

If you are in Toronto, Calgary, Seattle, Portland, and many other cities and most of the UK and Europe, you can travel with your dog on trains and buses (with some restrictions of course as to time of day etc)

So, if you come in late, you can take your dogs to work.

Well, for me, I got up and started my day and worked at my desk at home, and then at my art table. I am working on a show that will go up on Saturday.

Time for a coffee break and a dog walk. He has been at my feet, or lying on the floor close by me while I work.

It is a very hot day here and soon it will be too hot to take him out (more on that later)

We often walk the neigbourhood and up to the Crest Shopping strip- ( nobody strips really)

In there I often visit Rays Bakery, Choices, The Scotia Bank,  Pharmasave and all the wonderful staff and the lovely Joan, and Seasons cafe.

Today I stopped at Seasons for coffee and a bagel (not a beagle- I have a whippet). Smyth devoted as usual, to me, or is it my breakfast/break food.

If you have been lucky enough to take you dog to work, I hope you traveled in comfort ( in your car if you live here) or maybe you walked.

Where ever and however I hope you keep your dog cool today.

It is going to be too hot for dogs to even be outside from now, as I write this, to later in the afternoon.

Do not leave them in a car, not for even a second. Maybe they are with you in your air-conditioned office.

More on dogs in the heat later, I must go now.
